Last semester about 3 weeks ago I thought it might be possible to die of stress in grad school. Well today, in ONE day (better yet, the FIRST day), I am already as stressed as I was 3 weeks ago! I know it's only 8 weeks, but there is so much to do. It wouldn't be so bad if I were going to be here this weekend to bust all this work out and get ahead, but we're going on a trip and I have every minute booked until we leave with work and classes! I guess I have a few hours to do homework, but not near enough time... there is just so much to do in these classes.
Anyways on a happier note we started our thesis work today! We have to go through all our data (its already been collected from a bunch of previous studies) but we have to organize and code it and combine it to use in our thesis. The nice things: I like to organize, the job pays pretty well, and I get to do it with 2 of my favorite people! The annoying things: it's going to take forever, we still don't know what we're doing (or if we'll ever really know!), and then after all these we'll have to write and defend our thesis. STINKY! But it also means the end of school is in sight, and with that end comes *drum roll* a salary!!!!! That will be a beautiful thing, especially considering that every single job in provo gets snatched up in about 10 minutes of it being open (even early morning, and middle of the night custodial jobs!) In case you haven't guessed, the two jobs that were open as of yesterday morning for custodial on campus are already filled and Thomas is still unemployed. Its only 9 weeks until we go to California and he does his internship, but he's already been doing nothing for about 10 weeks- so he's going little crazy. Of course he can always read, but he'd like to be able to do SOMETHING besides being my stay at home wifie! ;)
Well I have procrastinated my ridiculously large homework load long enough, and its almost my bedtime..

Wow- another 4 1/2 months has already passed...
How does time fly by so fast?? I was just thinking "I remember updating my blog, it hasn't been too long since I've written!" well.. that's a joke. So the past 5 months or so has been good- the busiest and craziest and most stressful of my life, but we've survived! School went well (now that it's over I can say that!!!) and I got great grades! I have classes starting Tuesday until June 18th, then I'm DONE FOREVER! I will be doing an internship at a skilled nursing/rehab facility in Sept/Oct, then doing one in a school Jan to April next year. The plan is to graduate in April 2010- one more year to go! Just internships and thesis.. not too bad, super easy stuff to do ;)
Thomas was diagnosed with viral encephalitis after being sick for about 3 weeks with a horrible headache and barely being able to move, and he is still battling with that. He is feeling better when he's on his medicine, which is nice. I kind of like it- he had to drop out of school this past semester (which stinks) but I have had a "stay at home wife" to do cooking and cleaning, which has been really helpful with my chaotic schedule. He is looking for a job now; there is pretty much nothing, even on campus. He has two possibilities for custodial- either early early morning or late late night, so hopefully one of those will work out.
We hit our 5 months of marriage mark last week, which is CRAZY! It seems like one month, but forever at the same time. It has been fantastic and we work great together- definitely a match made in heaven :) Just booking along in school and enjoying the little time we have together. We are taking a little trip this weekend to just spend time together, since we really haven't been able to since our honeymoon. We are going to Vegas (it started out a surprise, but things unfolded and he had to ask me questions so I had to know where we were going), but I DON'T know where we're staying and he says I'll be surprised and like it a lot. So that is fun- he is a good lil hubby :)
So my friend Maria makes these little crochet stuffed animals, and I wanted to try it out in all my spare time. I made Herman the Hippo for Thomas (that was my first one) and a weiner dog for my friend Jen (a congratulations present for running the Boston marathon!). I attached a picture. They are so fun! I'm taking requests :)
That's about it- enjoying my last day before school starts... just hanging out, and indexing names for geneology (a new found hobby that I love). We'll try to be better at updating this time for real.
