2nd Anniversary!

We celebrated our second anniversary this weekend- it's officially tomorrow, the 22nd. In honor of our anniversary, I am posting some favorite wedding pictures!

Friday night we went to SLC and stayed at the Hilton downtown, in a beautiful room with a GREAT view. We dressed up all fancy schmancy and ate at Ruth's Chris Steak House. It was over $100 but DARN good food! We each got a salad (he had caeser, of course- I got artichoke and heart of palm in a white vinaigrette- it was the BEST salad I've ever had!). We got filet's for our main course- definitely the best steaks we've ever had. We shared two sides- brussell sprouts (seared with bacon, they were AMAZING) and garlic mashed potatoes, a house classic. It came with two desserts for each of us- a personal cheesecake topped with a blueberry, blackberry, raspberry and strawberry, and dark chocolate pecan bark. What a delicious dinner, and it was really fun to dine with the "upper class." It will definitely happen again, hopefully in the not too distant future.

We walked around temple square and downtown for a few hours- it surprisingly not cold for the end of November in Utah. Went back to our hotel and celebrated by sharing cards and enjoying some Martinelli's :) No gifts, because we just bought our xbox kinect and a few games. That was our mutual anniversary and Christmas gift to each other. Here are wedding pics, followed by our anniversary pics.

SO FUN! We had such a great day November 22, 2008 :)

Now for some pictures two years later:

The view from our 17th floor room- the spire in the middle is the temple

Salt Lake Temple

Our phones weren't working to take a picture in the dark.. this is the best we got. At least Thomas looks really cute :)

Everything is set up for Christmas but not lit up yet. I this picture would be cooler if the little lights in the pool were lit up too. But I think this is pretty neat.

Here's to two perfect years and many more to come!

WARNING!
The following is rated PG-13. It is the card I got Thomas- hey, we're married, its ok :)

Turkey Craft

Here is the turkey craft we made in my TLC classes (preschool age kids with severe articulation errors). SO CUTE right?? I also posted the template in case you want to make it with your students/kids/husbands etc :) haha Just fill a paper sack with crumpled newspaper and you have a turkey! We attached words with our target sound to the turkey. We read Ten Fat Turkeys and then we knocked our turkeys off the fence just like in the book. Our fence was a table.. whatever turkey got knocked off, we practiced the word on him. It was a REALLY fun class!! Can't wait to do it with my four preschool classes!

Amazing savings!!

So through my school district I went to this sale that had a ton of scrapbook supplies.. you will not believe how cheap I got some 12x12 cardstock paper...

I got 1 package of this paper- 48 sheets- (retail price $10) for $3 (savings of $7). All the pages are glittery or textured. Really cute!
DCWV 12"x12" All About Girls Cardstock Stack Paper

I got 12 packages of this paper- 48 sheets each- (retail price $20 each) for $3 TOTAL (savings of $237)! You can't tell, but they are all metallic/shimmery.

I got 3 packages of this paper- 48 sheets each- (retail price $20 each) for $1 TOTAL (savings of $59)! Its so cute, and the designs are made of velvet flocking.

I had to make something with this as soon as I got it, see below for my weekend craft.

POP QUIZ: How much did I save?? I spent $7 and saved $303!!!!!!! CRAZY RIGHT? Plus, that $7 went to help out teachers in my district :) Another WIN WIN situation. I love this!

My craft with my La Creme paper is just a cute little wall saying... nothing fancy. You can't see the detail too well, but the velvety designs give it amazing texture and a little 3D design. I like it :)

So simple, but I think it fits well with our current decor.

Bountiful Baskets!

So I recently did my first Bountiful Basket order! I am so happy with it! I got the regular basket, the Mexican pack and the 9 Grain Bread. If you don't know what I'm talking about, check it out here. It is a food co-op that goes directly to the farmers so we get things at a better price, and better quality than at grocery stores. Also, it helps the economy by not paying the large corporations and we get food that has not been covered in wax to "look pretty"... its definitely a WIN WIN!

The Basket
For $15,we got: a head of green leaf lettuce, 5 large tomatoes, 2 cucumbers, 6 pears, a container of blackberries, a bunch of bananas, a pineapple, 7 sweet potatoes, 7 apples, 2 banana squash and a bag of string beans.

The Mexican Pack
For $7, we go: a bunch of cilantro, 3 red chilis and 3 green chilis, 2 yellow onions, one clove garlic, 4 avocados, 2 gray squash, 10 tomatillos, one bunch bulb onions, and 6 limes.

I think it is a great deal and the produce has tasted so good! I made Cafe Rio Tomatillo Dressing with the tomatillos, cilantro and limes. It was delicious! Get the recipe on my recipe blog. Also, the 9 Grain Bread is healthy and delicious!!

Halloween 2010

Here are some pictures of our Halloween. I was a cow at my schools, because my other costume wasn't done yet. Then I was Peach, Thomas was Mario, and my brother was Luigi. It was so fun! I even carved my pumpkin to look like Bowser, to go with our theme.. say what you want about Thomas' pumpkin, his dad and my mom hate it more than anyone else I bet :) The treats are from a Hocus Pocus party we had here, to watch the best Halloween movie ever!

Cake Balls (See Bakerella.com for the recipe- SO YUMMY!) I colored my cake and icing orange on the inside.I tried dying the chocolate but it changed the consistancy too much (even using the expensive kind of coloring that is supposed to be for "the most delicate of recipes"...)

Strawberry Ghosts

Devilled Egg Eyeballs

Pumpkin seeds and veggies too! And don't forget the cider..

A gypsy, Peach, Mario, Luigi and Superman!

Aww, Peach and Mario- what a cute couple!

The Famous Duo- kids thought they were so cool! One kid had his dad come back and knock on the door so that he could see them, because he missed them when he was getting candy from me. haha

On my way to work for the Halloween Parade. Kids loved it. And yes, one of my cute little guys with autism definitely tried to milk me. :)

Flirty Apron!

Here was one of my weekend projects.. I've been wanting to make one for a few years. You can pay $30 for one at the mall or online, or make it for $6 and be able to design it yourself! It was a way fun project, and pretty good for not having a pattern or sewing anything for years :) The green straps and pockets have little white polkadots on them, but you can't tell in the picture.
