Today started off as a normal Tuesday... I went off to work, Thomas had school... nothing crazy at work, in fact, all my kids were there today! When you see 25+ kids a day it is a miracle if you can see them all and they are all there. So maybe it did start out an amazing day?? hmm...
Well I was almost done for the day, and I got a phone call. I couldn't answer, because I was doing therapy. I checked my messages later and it was the head SLP of Nebo district calling because she got my application from last week and wants to interview me. AWESOME! I called her as soon as I got home today and I set up an interview for 1pm this Friday.
I barely hang up with her, and my phone rings again with some crazy number. So I don't answer, and then I check my messages. It is a guy who works for a nationwide therapy company (EBS for those of you who know) and he got my resume/transcript last weekend and was really excited to talk to me. SO I call him back, and he's basically "job searching" for me with all the guys who work in Utah for this company to see who will have openings for me next year. He said he'll call back in a few days or a week and give me all the options, as well as discuss benefits/pay, etc. SWEET! Two job call backs in one!
As soon as I hung up with him, I got on my computer and an email comes in about 5 minutes later from our department secretary- a new job opening in Provo working in a Skilled Nursing Facility (which I LOVE). So I email the recruiter right away with my resume/transcript. Then Thomas and I walked out the door to go grab some Taco Bell. 10 minutes later as we walk in the door my phone is just finishing ringing, so I listen to the message, and its the recruiter calling me back, all excited and she was telling me that she passed my info on to someone else who works at the Provo site and should be calling me in the next day or two. They are looking for someone to fill the spot soon, but she said they are very interested in making something work with me if at all possible. WOW! Three job call backs all in a half hour- and from what I know about them now, I'd take ANY of them and be very happy!
This is where it gets good. Thomas already had a job interview set up for working in Phoenix this summer at the DAs office. He is flying down there this weekend, and interviewing on Friday (we both have our first important interviews this Friday!). He is wanting to intern this summer, and then get hired on next year after he graduates, have them pay for him to take the bar, and then work for them long term. (Yes we are pretty much set on Arizona- weather is amazing, need I say more?). So after I listen to my third message, he shows me this email that he just got- from the prosecutor's office in Salt Lake- he's accepted to intern there this summer without even interviewing!
WHAT A DAY! I have no idea what I'll go with, I still have a lot of info to gather about salary/benefits/experience from all these places. But its so nice to have a lot of options! And Thomas is hoping he gets the AZ internship, and hopefully can swing working at one for 2 months and the other for another 2 months. That would be an awesome summer experience! But at least he has one locally if nothing else, and he really wants to do that one too, although AZ is his first choice because it will help down the line when we move.
We'll keep you posted. But today is definitely one of those days where everything seems to be going right (for once) and for that we are so grateful! To think that a week ago I was stranded in Springville because my car broke down, and I literally had to run to work carrying all my groceries... haha Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we make these life decisions right now- there is so much to think about! But we are NOT complaining because we are just grateful to even have options in this economy- and GOOD options at that. We are very blessed. :)

Wow- what an exciting day for you both. Sounds like your biggest challenge is going to be which job to accept. I'm so proud of you both and love you tons.
WOWZER!!! Congrats guys!! That is awesome for both of you, and as the saying goes, "When it rains, IT POURS"...I think we need to change that saying to be used with reference to positive things!!! Watcha think? Anyway, congrats again and I too will keep you in my thoughts and prayers that you both will be guided to choose the "best" opportunity for each of you right now!!
What a fantastic day of amazing blessings! I'm sure you will both discover what/where it is you should do/be. Sometimes it is not the obvious or preferred option - and you only recognize the reasons afterwards.
Wow, how awesome! I want to know... which one are you going to pick??
